Help Wanted

Okay, I want to have Superhits '79 done within a week for my drive to Virginia for Christmas. (See this post for details.) I've got all the library CDs, and I can download what I need from Amazon and Rhapsody. What I need is a company that can convert the four songs mentioned from vinyl to CD (I don't want to bother doing it myself for four songs; too much setup costs.)

Where would I look for this in the Yellow Pages? Anyone?

They do make turntables with USB[?] output that you can use to rip songs from vinyl into the computer. This one will cost a little, but it might be less than sending out the albums for transfer.

There's also this model----much less than the Stanton. Numark makes a few too---but Full Compass isn't showing me any prices.

As you can tell, this would definitely be the route I'd go. :P

I'm not paying $300 to transfer six songs -- at $50 a song, I don't love them that much. (The other two songs are by Chris Rea; after he recorded his first album or two, he had a major break with his manager -- who got royalties from those recordings -- and they're now out of print; he rerecorded "Fool if You Think It's Over," a major hit, to avoid this issue.)

There's ways to hook up your existing turntable to the computer, but it seems like a lot of work. I can't believe the whole thing won't cost much more than 30 bucks.

There is a place that advertises on their building about a 40-minute drive away; I'd just prefer not to make the 40-minute drive. We'll see.

send me the artists, albums and song titles of the 4 songs that you want, I can find them already in digital format and I can send them to you.
