My Meijer Fascination Is Over (I Think)

Ever since moving out here, I've been convinced Meijer is the greatest store around. You can buy an entire wardrobe, a few CDs and DVDs, and do your grocery shopping, all in one store. (Karen, of course, hates the place.) Last night, I went and couldn't find anything I wanted (U. of I. sweatshirt, several grocery items). I'll stick with the Cub Foods/Target/Kohl's triumvirate from now on -- they're only two miles from my house, and a half-mile from my office. (Do love the Anderson pretzel nuggets they sell for 99 cents a pound, but maybe Karen can pick those up -- her commute takes her right by a different Meijer.)

Karen and I went to Geneva last night (three towns west of Wheaton) for a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant. Geneva is a beautiful town, and would be a perfect place to live, except it would add to both of our commutes. We've agreed if we find the absolutely perfect house, that's one thing; otherwise, we'll probably relocate to Naperville (where all the houses appear to have been built after 1980, unfortunately).

The Mets dropped a doubleheader to Arizona yesterday, and Edgardo Alfonzo and Roberto Alomar sustained injuries in the process. Doesn't look good.
